Final Halloween Projects

Kinda glad Halloween is over.  I'm tired of seeing all the Halloween stuff!  Now, to clean up the decorations in my house and get ready for Thanksgiving.

Here are my final projects I made for Halloween.

These are the Tic Tac Holders that I made this weekend for a few friends.  Such fun!  Think I will do some for Christmas too.

I made this for my Monday Mailer.  I stamped the images from Wicked Cool and cut the little skirts free-handed after using paper punches.  Pretty cute, huh?

This is my final Monday Mailer .... and I really mean the final one.  Participation was getting bad and I was tired of begging each month and sending out emails to get the gals to show up.  So we put it to a vote and decided to try Weekly Challenges instead of Monday Mailers.  We'll see how that works.  I'm not starting that program until after the holidays though.

I've got good news to share!  Remember the neon page I did (HERE) that I did for a challenge for SU.  Well, I got an honorable mention!!  You can see the other pages HERE.  I was just glad to get a shout out for my project!

Monday Mailer - October

I have a couple more birthday cards to share with you.
from Joyce

Isn't this the cutest image?  I just love it!  This is from my good friend, Judy N.

This card is from my NC Demo group, made by Nancy Lewis
Now to my Monday Mailer.  This is the card I made this week and mailed to Pam and Jamie.  I used one of my favorite stamp sets, French Foilage.  Our color challenge this week was Raspberry Ripple, Sahara Sand, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and Basic Gray.

I sponged a rectangle in the center of the card with Sahara Sand and stamped the leaves around the rectangle.  I cut one of the leaves out and popped it up.

Before I mailed the card (but after I took the pictures!), I added a sentiment that was die cut with the Itty Bitty Banner die.

Supplies:
Cardstock:  Basic Gray, Naturals Ivory
Ink:  Daffodil, Sahara Sand, Basic Gray, Raspberry Ripple
Stamp:  French Foilage
Accessories:  Raspberry Ripple ribbon, Antique Brad

Halloween Monday Mailers

I took a few supplies with me to Texas when I was there but it's always difficult to make cards without all my "stuff" surrounding me!  I think I will be tackle-ing her office/craft room when I go back in December!  She has recently had the inside of her house painted and she did her office in bright yellow.  She is a huge fan of Curious George and has a ton of Curious George things.  So she is planning on decorating her office in red and yellow.  I did not think it would look good at all when she showed me the paint chip in March but it actually looks pretty good.  We didn't have time to do much decorating in the room while I was there but I did recover a memo board/partition for her.  She was going to get rid of it because it was a pale green but I told her we could fix it up.  We went to Hobby Lobby and found some red material and to M's and got some bright yellow ribbon.  It turned out really good and will look great in there with the yellow walls.  She found some Curious George ribbon on-line and was going to order it but we decided it would just be too much and more expensive than just plain ribbon.  Plus, when she puts all her pictures and scrapbook items on it, the ribbon wouldn't show up that much.  We even took the little tacks that hold the ribbon on off and covered then with the red fabric.

So, this is the first Monday Mailer I made to send.  I used the Woodgrain embossing folder (luckily, I gave Ashley my Cuttlebug when I bought the Big Shot!).  The stamp set is Bootiful Occasions.

Supplies:
Cardstock:  Black, Rich Razzleberry, Cajun Craze, Whisper White
Die:  Apothecary Art, Woodgrain emb. folder
Black brads
Ink:  Razzleberry, black
Here is the second card I made using Wicked Cool.  I saw this idea somewhere - either on a blog or Pininterest of using the witches hat and shoes with the pumpkin.  Cool huh?  I sponged the edges of the pumpkin to give it some dimension and used dimensionals for the witches hat.

Supplies:
Cardstock:  Black, Tangerine Tango, White
Stamp:  Wicked Cool
Punch:  1 1/4" Circle Punch (I think!)
Markers
Hope you enjoy these cards!  I had fun making them.

Monday Mailer Cards

It's been a great weekend.  We went to a "pig pickin'" barbecue Friday night.  We took the boat and it was so nice.  I am so happy with this cooler weather .... what a difference between here and San Antonio!!   I'll be opening our windows and turning off the AC this week.  Saturday I didn't go anywhere and got some stamping done.  It had been awhile.  And Sunday I did more stamping while watching the Panthers beat up on New Orleans.  In the afternoon, we went to Big Al's to watch the Steelers beat the Jets which made me a happy gal.  It was good to see all our Steeler friends again and to chant "Here We Go Steelers."

I got my last August Monday Mailer cards when we returned from Texas this week.  I actually got a bit of a bonus and Carren sent me two cards!

Both of these cards are stamped on Very Vanilla - layered onto Very Vanilla.  The stamp set is Scentsational Seasons from the Holiday Mini catalog.  The tree on the right is punched out with the matching framelit and DSP is behind the cut out.  The same thing is done with the mug card.  Very simple but pretty.  A good one for mass producing your Christmas cards.

Monday Mailer

I got the cutest Monday Mailer card last week from Carren.

I haven't been super excited about the new DSP this year and so far, have only ordered the large dot paper.  I still have some Summer Smooch DSP from the pre-order last spring also.  But, Carren may be changing my mind with this card.  She used Floral District DSP and I love the colors and layers she used in this card.  She also did a lot of paper piercing using the new Paper Piecing pack.  I'm also loving the stamp set she used (one I don't have), One in a Million.  Just a great card!

I'm taking Mom to the neurologist tomorrow.  Hopefully this will be her last visit.  She is doing so good!  After that I'll be hurrying to get back home to get ready for Card Class.

Monday Mailer #1 for August

Our Monday Mailer program has been on a break for a couple of months.  But I kicked it back in gear this month and now I have to get myself in gear!  I made (and mailed) my Monday Mailer card last week to Beth Fox.  I sent her one of the Postage Due cards I had previously made (seen HERE).  I received a really cool card from my partner, Carren Heartley.

Our theme this month is to use something new from the catalog so it is pretty wide open to interpretation - new stamps, paper, ink, accessories, etc.  Carren used the new stamp set, Flowering Flourishes.  She also told me that she did not seem to use her Regals much so it was a new color combo AND that she used Window Sheets for the first time!  I think she did a marvelous job with all her new discoveries!  The flourish isis stamped onto the Window Sheet which she attached to the card with brads..  The Cajun and Green ovals are punched out and layered onto the Mustard layer.

A really great card!

Update your MDS with new In Colors!

When I returned from our Alaska trip and picked up the mail, I had two great Monday Mailer cards!!  Such fun plus ... they are wonderful cards.   Remember, we were to use retiring stamps.  I am really going to miss these stamp sets - especially Three Little Words.  It always came in handy for a sentiment.

I needed to send a birthday card out today but luckily, I had left a card partially finished on my desk when I went away.  So I was able to quickly finish it today and get it in the mail.  It will still be late, but at least not too late!!

I used Forest Friends for this card.  I honestly don't know if I used this set but a couple of times!  Wish I'd remembered it at Easter when I was looking for a rabbit!

World Traveler Photobook Template
I downloaded some newly released My Digital Studio templates and photobooks this weekend.  One of them, World Traveler, was released on May 22.  I thought it would be great for my Alaska pictures and have been wanting to start scrapbooking with it.  Unfortunately, there is a glitch with my computer and I can't get it to download.  I have never had this problem with any of the downloads so I am waiting to speak to the technical geeks at SU to fix it - hopefully tomorrow!!

Every Tuesday, Stampin' Up release new digital products.  They are announced on  My Digital Studio.net so if you have MDS, check them out each week.  You can also access all the downloads and all the products offered for MDS HERE or by clicking "Digital Items" just below my blog banner.

ALSO - if you have My Digital Studio, then go get your new In Colors!  The new 2012-2014 In Colors (Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, and Summer Starfruit)  are available for FREE when you update your software. Not only will you see them in your color palette, but you'll get the card stock as well.  You can update your software by clicking Help (in MDS) and then Check for Updates,  Make sure you take advantage of this offer!

Mothers Day Cards

I was good this weekend!  I went to the Used Stamp Sale at Stamper's Alley and only spent $10.00!  Yeah for me!  I bought a Desktop Carousel for scissors, pens, etc. for $6.  I've seen them at M's for much more!  And two stamp sets for $2 each.  They are SU and never been used.  I will use them for my customers as a little thank you.  So, not bad!  After the sale, I pampered myself with a pedicure and then ran a few errands and had some BBQ for lunch.  I love NC Eastern style pork BBQ and Sonny does not and I have been hankering for some and it was yummy!!   Friday night we met some friends out for dinner and enjoyed a great catfish meal!  Not so good on the calorie count, but who's counting?!!

I have a couple of cards to share with you that I received in April for my Monday Mailers.  They are both Mother's Day cards which is great because I have a very busy week and might not have time to make a card.  I already have my mother's gift bought - just need to find a box and wrap it.  Plus, Saturday is my nephew's graduation from UNC-C and Marianne is having a party for him.

Isn't this beautiful?  I have not purchased this bird die and wasn't planning to, but I keep seeing some beautiful cards using it.  I love the color combo on this one.

Another beautiful card.  It's hard to see the embossing on this one but it is embossed with the Adorning Accents dotted embossing folder just below the flower.

I have two Red Cross classes this week.  Tomorrow we travel to Gastonia for a Social Media class.  Sounds like an odd one for Red Cross, huh?  But, we have to be able to talk to reporters, etc. when we are at a disaster and know what information to give out.  Then on Friday, we are taking a CPR class in Shelby.  So, I have a busy week ahead of me - Soup Kitchen on Tuesday; taking Mom for her pre-op visit on Wednesday; Stamp Club on Thursday .....!!

My Helper and my Monday Mailer card

This is my Monday Mailer that I sent out last week.   I used the Beau Chateau Side Notes to create the card.  The Side Notes are uniquely shaped die-cut tags and accents that quickly add dimension, texture, and journaling to any project. They are heavyweight felt-weave paper and come with 24 total notes.  I ordered them a few months ago and forgot about them.  So, when I was trying to decide what to make for my Monday Mailer, I found these on my desk.  I think they worked great for this card.  What say you?

Supplies:
Paper:  Pretty In Pink, Mocha Morning DSP
Ink:  Soft Suede
Stamps:  Sincere Salutations, Creative Elements
Accessories:  Beau Chateau Side Notes

It's been a rainy cold day here today.  I don't think the temperature got past 55 degrees!  Pretty unusual for late April but we really needed the rain.  And since I didn't have anything planned for today other than doing the laundry, I could stay in my sweats all day!  I talked to my son and his family earlier in the day and he told me it was about 99 degrees there.  What a difference!  I'll take my 55 degrees any day!

I worked on making a few cards today using some of the retired stamps before it's too late.  While working on my cards, I had a little helper!  Can you spot her in the picture below?
This is a drawer unit that I have in my room.  The top drawer wouldn't stay on the tracks, so I removed it.  Sammie loves to jump into the drawer and go down in the back of the drawers.  Don't know what is back there that is so interesting to her.  She has definitely come out of her shell in the month she has been at my house.

This is her favorite spot though.  She likes to stretch out on my table and nudge my hand away from the mouse and onto her head to scratch her.

Monday Mailer from March

This is a card I made for a Monday Mailer in March.  When I was in Texas, I forgot to share it with you.  I love this card and the stamp set.  I need to dust it off and use it more.  I used Field Flowers, Just Believe and the Butterfly Embosslits with some masking.  The flowers are stamped in Daffodil Delight and Peach Parfait using the two-step stamping technique.

Happy St Paddy's Day!

Wish I was in back in Ireland today .... oh what fun!  I'll have to make do  here in the USA though.  Sonny and I plan to brave the crowds and take in some of the festivities at the Galway Hooker in Cornelius later today.  They are having all day activities - bagpipes, 10 bands, corn role, etc ..... oh yeah - a little bit of green beer too I imagine!  Hope you are doing something fun too!

Here is the Monday Mailer card I received this week from Pat.  It is great!
 Materials used for card:

Stamps:  Outlined Occasions, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green
Ink:  Crumb Cake, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green
Embellishments:  Punches:  Blossom, Heart to Heart, Full Heart (for stem), Corner Rounder, 1 3/4" circle, 1 1/2" Circle, 1/2" Circle, Dazzling Diamonds
This is a Hershey Bar treat holder .... no Hershey bar though - she ate it!!  But isn't it the cutest???
“May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.”

Have a safe and happy day!
