41 Years and Going Strong

Today is my 41st wedding anniversary!  Wow!  That's a long time.  I shared a few pictures today on Facebook that brought back a lot of memories.

Ashley sent us these beautiful flowers today for our anniversary.  My bridesmaids carried yellow daisies in their bouquet at our wedding.  Sonny used to give me a bouquet of daisies each year for our anniversary with a rose for each year.  That stopped a few years after we got past a dozen roses!

I made this card for Sonny today.  I loved the card he bought for me (Hallmark) but when I looked on the back at the price, I about had a stroke!  $6.00!!!  Just shows the cards we make are worth more than we think!

I used the Sale-a-bration set, See Ya Later and Hello Watercolor stamps to make this card.  The card stock is Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point.

Paper Craft Crew Challenge

It's time for another Paper Craft Crew Challenge.  I made a card (with MDS) this time using Sale-a-Bration products.  This would be an easy one to reproduce (or CASE) and you wouldn't have to use MDS.

So, what do you think??

Stamp Club Cards for February

This week is my Stamp Club.  We made a Card in a Box project and 2 easy cards.  The Card in a Box was a rather lengthy project so I made sure to make the other two cards easy and quick.  I will share the Card in a Box tomorrow with directions.

The other two cards used items from the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  I wanted to use the Good As Gold kit so the gals could see what was included and how easy it would be to put together a card but that you could also amp up the card with things you have in your arsenal.

This is the card I made from the Sale-a-Bration Gold kit.  I used one of the banners that is written in another language and stamped the "hello" hexagon and put it over the foreign language greeting.  So you can use everything in the kit!  The kit comes with an envelope and a gold liner.  I cut a portion of the liner off the bottom to use it on my card.  Once you put the liner in the envelope, you can't tell that I cut any of it off.  I backed the polka dot card with a piece of Island Indigo cardstock BUT later discovered that by adding the additional card stock, it won't fit in the envelopes provided.  The note cards and envelopes are smaller than our standard cards.

The second card we did was about a 10 minute card!

This is my Washi Tape Card.  Washi Tape is growing on me.  This is the Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape that is in the Occasions Catalog.  There are three rolls of tape in gold - stripes, plain and dots.  We just took strips of tape and put them in the center of the Naturals White card stock.  Stamp a sentiment from See Ya Later (Sale-a-bration) in Versamark and emboss with gold embossing powder.  Use dimensionals to pop up the sentiment in the center of the card.  Adhere the whole thing to a Naturals White card.  Easy Peasy!!

See Ya Later Alligator - Paper Craft Challenge #78

I tried to post last night but our internet was soooo slow!  Don't know if it's the weather causing it or not.  I just reset our internet connection and hope that will solve the problem.

So, it started snowing yesterday around 1:00 pm and didn't stop until after dinner time.  It was a fine light snow and only got about 1-2" accumulation.  I had an eye dr. appointment this morning at 9:30 and was a little worried about driving.  As it turned out, all Sonny's buddies "wimped" out this morning on going shooting so he was able to take me, plus I called and got the appointment moved to later in the morning.  Actually after driving to town, I believe I could have done it.  (I do NOT drive in snow or ice!!  I've had about 3 car accidents in my life and 2 were on iced over bridges!)  My eye doctor finally agreed with me that I needed cataract surgery!!  This has been an on-going issue with him and me for about 6 months.  I am scheduled for the surgery on Feb. 13 and I can't wait!  I hate having trouble seeing.  I can only imagine how bad it is for my mom who is legally blind with Retinosa Pigmentosa, a degenerative eye disease.  After the eye doctor, Sonny and I went to Corrine's for breakfast and ran into two of our Pittsburgh buddies who had just gotten there so we all had lunch together.  It was fun and such a coincidence as I was next going to one of the gals' house to drop off the calendar I had made for her to give to her sister when she goes to Florida in a couple of weeks.  (I'll be posting pictures of the calendar tomorrow.)

I have not participated in the Paper Craft Crew Challenge since early December so it was fun to design my card in MDS last night and post it for the challenge.  I used items from the new Occasions Catalog (DSP) and a stamp set from Sale-a-Bration.

The Paper Craft Crew design team has come up with some fun card samples using this week's card sketch.  Go HERE to check out the rest of the cards.  You may click any of the photos to see a larger image, and you may also click the name under the photo to go to the designers blog for more information on their creation.
