Card Box and 3x3 cards

I forgot to share some little projects I made earlier in August.  My mom is legally blind, having a degenerative eye disease, Retinitis Pigmentosa.  She and my sister who lives with her are active in the Association of the Blind and Lions Club.  While we were in Texas, they had a state convention in our area.   Angela did a lot of work for the convention and had asked me if I would make some raffle items for the convention.  So this is what I made for them:

Card Box holds 3x3 cards

3x3 cards and envelopes (made with the SU Diagonal Score)

Box to hold 3x3 cards

3x3 cards using A Flower for All Seasons

A long Memo Pad from Dollar Store is inside
I just finished watching Monday Night Football and I just have to say that Green Bay was robbed!  I am not a Green Bay fan but they intercepted the pass in the final second and the replacement ref's gave the game and touchdown to Seahawks.  That was just wrong!!  Something needs to be done about the referees.  I know the replacements are doing the best they can but there have just been too many mistakes made.  I'm just afraid someone is going to get hurt on the field.

Celebrate

Saturday night my cousins had a birthday party for their mom who turned 80 on Friday.  They told her they were going to celebrate her birthday on Saturday but it would just be the family.  Her daughter drove up from Raleigh and her son came up from Charlotte to celebrate at Candy's home.  So, she was really surprised when my mom, sisters, brother, Sonny and I showed up.  I wish I had remembered to take my camera to take some family pictures.  It's hard to think up presents for 80 year old ladies!!  But I decided everyone needs cards!  So, I made a few cards and a card box to put them in for her gift and it was a big hit.

I used a 6x6 paper pad from SEI that I got at CK last summer for all the cards and the box.  Stamps used are all SU.

Card Box - Stamp  from Oval All

Card #1 - I used the Sizzix Butterfly Die with a brad in the center.

Card #2 - Stamp from Occasional Quotes.  Nestabilities dies

Card #3 - Martha Punch; SU Daisy Sizzix Die with SU brad in center

Card #4 - stamp - Occasional Quotes

Card #5 - Occasional Quotes stamp and Owl Punch.  Also used SU embossing folder.

Close up of Ms. Owl!!

This is the birthday card I made for Aunt Carol - a CASE from last month's Monday Mailer!

More Cards and a Box

I did my Flower Brooch class today and it went so well.  I was really pleased.  I had about 15 ladies.  One of my friends from Club came to help me.  The only problem the ladies had was figuring out how to weave the pieces.  But once they tacked that, they were off to the races.  Most of them made 2 pins but a few made 3 or 4.

Tonight one of Sonny's groups had a raft-up on the lake.  We had about 8 boats and it was a beautiful night.  We watched the sun go down and the full moon go up.  The weather has finally started to cool down a bit and I'm loving it!  Although that is not the case everywhere in the country.  When I spoke to Ashley yesterday, she said they were breaking records there and it was miserable.

I want to share another project I made this week.  Here are four cards and a great box to put them in.  I got the box directions from Andrea Walford.  She really does some great projects.

The box has an acetate cover over it.  It opens from the back.

These cards use Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip and Bermuda Bay (retired) card stock.  The stamp set is Watercolor Trio, which will be retired real soon.  I stamped the flowers in white craft ink and embossed them.

Tote-ably Awesome Tote

I had a full day of playing today!  Most of the morning was spent getting every ready for tomorrow.  I am showing the Garden Club how to make the fabric flowers.  I think I have everything packed and ready!  I've got about 20 ladies signed up and a one of the gals from my Club is going to help me out.

This afternoon I made a this little tote for four of the cards I made last weekend.  This is Becky's Tote-ally Awesome Tote (Inking Idaho).  It took a little more time than I had planned so I don't know that I will be making too many of these.  But I thought it turned out cute.

These are little bookmarks or tags in the outside pocket.

This is the top closure (velcro underneath).

This is the box open.  I made acetate pockets on either side for the cards.

And here are the cards:

The DSP is called Urban Garden and I got it several months ago from the Clearance Rack.  The stamp set I used is Friends Never Fade.
