Blender Labels (part 2) and Share Sunshine Fun Fold cards

I have had requests for the Blender Labels that I had on my post yesterday.  So here it is -

BLENDERS

Keep in mind that I did not create this but another Stampin'Up! demonstrator did and was nice enough to share it with others.

I have made several cards with the SHARE SUNSHINE PDF from Stampin' Up.  It is a digital file meaning you can download it to your computer and print it out.  I printed the file out on Whisper White cardstock and just cut out the one I want each time.  This PDF file will only be available until June 2 so if you are interested in purchasing it, you should order now HERE.  Remember 100% of the proceeds will go to the COVID-19 efforts.

Here are a few of the cards I have made using an easy fun fold.

I used some really old DSP on this card - do you remember it?  It is one of my all time favorite DSP that Stampin'Up! has had.  It is called Everyday Enchantment.  When SU retired it, I stocked up on a couple of packages of the DSP.

Using more retired DSP.  This was in a Sale-a-Bration package called Botanical Butterfly.

More of the Botanical Butterfly DSP with Highland Heather cardstock.

The card base is 9 1/2" x 4 1/4", scored at 5 1/2".  Score the strip that you cut off for the card base at 3/8" and adhere it between the card and DSP.

Would you believe I fell AGAIN this morning!???  What is going on!  I was carrying a large plant outside so it could get some of the rain that is getting ready to come down.  When I stepped outside on our deck, it was slick as could be with the rain and I fell right on my butt!  I didn't get hurt but I had a hell of a time getting up because the deck was so slick!   The plant survived it too!

Blog Hop - Keeping It in the Lines

Welcome to the North Carolina Demos February Blog Hop!  Whew - that's a mouthful!  So glad you are here and will get some ideas for your own card making from our cards.   If you have already visited Tracie's blog, I'm sure you enjoyed a wonderful project.  Tracie does great work!  I'm Sharon Maranich from the NC Piedmont area and I was born and raised in Charlotte.

This month's theme for the blog hop is your favorite coloring method.  Well, my favorite way to color is with the Stampin' Up Blends!  These markers make it so easy to blend colors and create beautiful works of art for all of your card making.  The colors, as the name suggests, blend beautifully, mainly because the colors are picked out and designed to blend with each other.  These blends take the guess work out and lessen the learning curve for coloring.  I love using the Color Lifter too.  It makes it easy to erase colors with it.  It is good for blending the dark and light colors.

For this card, I used the Dandelion Wishes stamp set.  I stamped the dandelions on the edges of the Basic Gray card stock with Versamark and used the white embossing powder to emboss them.  Next came the Pumpkin Pie Blends and I colored some of the flowers and all the little stems.  I used one of my favorite embossing folders - Subtle - to emboss both the Basic Gray card and stamped piece.  I matted the piece onto Pumpkin Pie card stock.  The sentiment was stamped on a Layering Circle die which was also matted onto a Pumpkin Pie circle.

This card uses the Love What You Do Photopolymer Stamp set.  I stamped the flowers and leaves along the edge with Memento Black ink on Very Vanilla card stock that was cut out with the Rectangle Stitched dies (my favorite!)  Next I colored the flowers with Bermuda Bay light and dark SU Blends.  I used the Well Written dies to cut out "miss" and the bird.  I actually die cut 2 of the "miss" - one is Bermuda Bay and the other in Night of Navy and staggered them just a little bit.  I matted the Vanilla piece onto Night of Navy and then onto the Bermuda Bay card.

There is a bit of a story behind the "miss" and "you"!  I bet most of you have experienced this before.  I was going to do both words with the Well Written dies and took them both off the magnet sheet and  put them onto my table.  Well, wouldn't you know it, when I got ready to die cut them, I couldn't find "you."  I looked everywhere and crawled around on the floor (picking up little bits of paper and the backs of the glue dots while I was down there!)  Finally I just gave up and stamped the "you" (from the Sale-a-Bration set, Part of My Story).  I was so upset because I had never even used the "you" die and now it was gone.  BUT .... when I turned my card over to put tape on the back and assemble the card, there was "you" stuck to the back of the vanilla card stock!

OK - that's all for me today.  I hope you have been inspired to create your own masterpiece.  If you need help or want to add any of these supplies to your own stash, please let me know.  I'll be more than happy to help you on your stampin' journey!  Enjoy the remainder of the Blog Hop.  Next stop for the blog hop is Sue Root.  I'm sure she will have something amazing to share with you!

We do this Blog Hop each month on the last weekend of the month.  So don't forget to join us at the end of March!

Happy Stampin'!

Using Stampin' Up Blends

I shared the information about the new Stampin' Up Blends last week.  Now they are available for you to order them!!  I have ordered most of the colors and made this card using them.  I stamped and colored the leaves onto Thick Whisper White cardstock and had great results.

It was so easy to do the shading on the Vintage Leaves!  I used the framelits to cut out the leaves.  Next I took matching Blends and went around the edges of the leaves where it was white.  I used the Woodland Textured Embossing Folder to mount the leaves onto.  Simple card to make!!

Enjoy watching these videos that give you tips and tricks on using the new Blends Markers.

Perhaps you would be interested in the Color Me Happy kit which is available now!

Stampin' Up Blends

The new Stampin’ Blends are on their way.
You can purchase them on November 1st.  I am SOOO excited for you to get your hands on them.  I played with mine today and they seem much better than the SU Blendabilities.  Here is the results of my playing today.

FAQ regarding Stampin’ Blends:

Q)  Are these markers the same as Blendabilities?
A)  Yes and No.  These are alcohol based markers.  However they have been reconfigured and are MUCH better than the previous product released.  I love them and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to start learning how to use alcohol markers for card making.
Q)  Are these the same kind of markers as Copic markers?
A)  Yes.  They are an alcohol based marker.  Just like Copics, Spectrum Noir and several others on the market.
Q)  Why would I buy these instead of buying Copics?
A)  The price point on these markers is much lower than Copic markers.  I highly recommend them for someone that is considering trying it out but doesn’t want the commitment of a large investment.  Or the time involved in learning how to use Copic markers.
Q)  What kind of paper should I use?
A)  The very best paper for any alcohol based marker is a paper designed specifically for that.  I love using  Crafters Companion Spectrum Noir card stock.  However, with that said I have tested the Stampin’ Blends on Whisper White Thick card stock and you do get a nice blend.  The difference is marginal.  I would NOT recommend using an inexpensive card stock, like Walmart or Michaels brands.  They will not give you nice stamped images or blended coloring.
Q)  Are Stampin’ Blends refillable?
A)  No.  They are not.  Their price point is such that purchasing a new marker is less expensive than buying a refill.  You can purchase the markers individually.
Q)  Can I buy the entire set of Stampin’ Blends?
A)  YES. There is an option to purchase the entire set.
Q)  When will the Stampin’ Blends be available to purchase?
A)  Nov 1, 2017
