I am working on my new catalog order and trying to decide which stamp set(s) I will get. There are so many beautiful ones to choose from!! I think I am leaning towards the Pansy Patch, Hand Penned and Artistically Inked. Decisions, decisions!! Plus .... I am loving the Designer Paper that is in the catalog!!
Ok - I have mentioned that I was going through some medical issues. Well, I think I am done and the outcome is good. It started out a little over a month ago when I had discovered blood in my urine (for 3 days.) So a trip to the doctor. I never had any pain or discomfort. I ended up going to a urologist. I had CT scan, Ultrasound, and last week the dr. took a look at my bladder. Turns out that I have kidney stones in both kidneys. They are fairly small so for now we are not going to do anything. The urologist said if it was him, he'd just wait since they are small versus having two surgeries to break them up. He will see me again in a year and do another CT scan. So that makes me happy. I have heard some horror stories about how painful it is to pass them. Just hoping mine aren't big enough to hurt me if they decide to pass!
Now on to better topics!! I have made several cards with the April Paper Pumpkin kit. It is one of the best ones Stampin' Up has done.
It's beginning to feel like spring! Yesterday's temps were in the 80s and I today it is predicted to be 86! I'm so ready for the warm weather. When I went to visit Ashley a couple of weeks ago, I took spring clothes and ended up having to wear some of Ashley's sweaters! It even got close to freezing one night. I am ready for short sleeves and capris! Of course, I don't know if I will fit into my spring clothes from last year. Due to this pandemic, I have put on about 10 unwanted pounds. Dessert and goodies every day is not good!!!! I am starting to count my WW points again and get this weight off.
I have been having a bit of a health scare. Before I went to Ashley's, I noticed blood in my urine for 3 days. I went to the doctor and they did a urine test which came out negative. Next I had a renal ultrasound which showed kidney stones in both kidneys. So, I went to a Urologist. He had me do a CT scan a couple of days ago. I will be going back to the urologist next week to go over the results. All I do know is that it is not cancer according to the nurse who called me yesterday. I didn't think cancer was an issue but you never know. I just had two friends who were diagnosed with cancer.
I have been trying to finish up my Paper Pumpkin cards from last month during all this craziness. Here are a few cards I have made.
HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S DAY to you! No fooling - I have a blog post for you!
This month's Paper Pumpkin is great. We got some free goodies in this month's kit - stencils (mountains, clouds, starburst & stars) and a sponge which I cut into 5 pieces. The stencils have been a challenge for me. I still need to work on them! I think the elements in this kit work well for masculine cards. Another good think in the kit is envelope liners along with kraft envelopes. Usually the liners are already in the envelope and in order to use them as an element on the card, you have to cut the envelope apart.
I have finally gotten my crafting room somewhat organized. At least I have room at my desk to make a few cards! I bought a rolling cart from Michael's and put a lot of items on it. These carts are really handy. The one I bought has hooks on the sides, a little basket, and rods to hang ribbon on.
So, who's getting a special heartfelt card? This cute little panda is! The panda is from an old Sale-a-Bration set. But there are so many other images you could add to this mailbox like the kitty from Pretty Kitty, a weiner dog from the Hot Dog set, a donkey from the Darlin' Donkey set and even the cute little snail that is included in this Paper Pumpkin kit.

It's almost Valentine's Day!! The Paper Pumpkin kit for January was all about hearts so I've made a bunch of Valentines and a few anniversary cards for the future.
Just to give you a little chart explaining about Paper Pumpkin during Sale-a-Bration if you are interested.
Here are a few more cards using August Paper Pumpkin and I still have more! I'm telling you the Paper Pumpkin Kit is worth the $$ for all the cards you can make with the kit. I know some people don't like the fact that they don't know what the theme is and don't like being surprised each month. I don't know - I think that is part of the fun of it especially at this crazy time. It's nice to have a surprise!
This was such a fun card to make! I just used the negative from the circle punch out piece and using blenders colored the circles with Crushed Curry and Flirty Flamingo. These are the blenders that I used. I bought one at Walmart or Walgreen's in the Cosmetic department and I liked it so much, I went searching for them on Amazon. I was able to get a box of 7 for about $10. Here is a link to them if you are interested - CRAFT BLENDER BRUSHES After using them, you can either wash the color out or do what I do and just rub it onto scrap paper and most of the ink comes off. |
I cut one of the cards apart (blue argyle) and added a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock behind it for this simple card. I used the Daisy Punch and the 1 1/2" punch for the flower. |
I love simple cards!! Can't get much simpler than this one! |
Another simple card. I used a piece of the ribbon that came with the kit. I hope you've enjoyed these World's Greatest Paper Pumpkin cards. |
Hope you remembered to check out the stamp sets that are on SALE today only. I just finished placing my order - what about you?
I've been busy working on my August Paper Pumpkin. I think I have made enough and am ready to move on to something else! August's theme was World's Greatest. The cards are specifically designed to celebrate life's champions. It was good timing for this kit I thought.
I used the vellum leaves under the ribbon and popped up the celebrate circle. |
Everything on this card came from the kit (also the same goes for the card above and below this one.) |
This card is a shaker card. Again, everything for this card was in the kit - even the foam backing and window sheet! |
This is another shaker card. I mounted it onto a piece of thick white cardstock. |
