Friendly Hello

Don't you love this cheery card?  I love the different images in the Friendly Hello Designer Series Paper.  Different versions of them also come in three different colors - Pool Party (which I used), Petal Pink and Fresh Freesia.

I love the little bluebird.  I'm starting to see them in my yard - almost spring time!!  He was stamped with Black Memento on white cardstock and then colored with my Stampin' Blends.  This Friendly Hello stamp set included a "speckles" stamp.   I think these speckles are just the finishing touch on this card. You can get the Friendly Hello stamp and DSP for free with a $100 order.

For the sentiment, I stamped onto the DSP and cropped the die piece with one of my favorite sets, Tasteful Touches.  There are so many great dies in there.  I don't very often stamp my sentiment on designer paper - not because I don't like it, but because I don't remember that it looks so pretty!

Hope this inspires you to pull out your designer paper and see what you can create!

More Memories & More

Happy Valentines!

While watching the Olympics Sunday, I made a few more Memories and More kits.  Are you watching the Olympics?  There is so much to watch!  My favorites are hockey and curling.

The background on this card is made using a clear transparency that has a hexagon shape on it.  I found it is my files of vellum and it works great for this card.

Memories and More

When you need a pretty card but don’t have much time to put one together, the Memories & More Card Packs are  a great resource. These cards below that I made this weekend are made with the Flowers for Every Season Memories & More Card Pack which are retired...BUT there are a couple of other Memories & More packs in the Annual Catalog (page 127) and a new pack in the Mini Catalog (pg. 59).

If you want an easy afternoon of crafting where you end up with a stack of pretty cards, then Memories & More Card Packs are a great product for this. Just grab some matching embellishments and cardstock, and then be amazed at how many cards you can make in a couple of hours.

The Memories & More Card Packs are designed for pocket scrapbooking and work  well for that purpose with two different size double-sided cards to match with your memories. In the Flowers for Every Season pack there are 50 cards - some designed to add journaling to capture the stories associated with your photos. The pack includes stickers as well for decorating the cards or using them throughout your photo album. If you are like me and it can take years to put an album together, this is a great tool to speed up the process!

The additional bonus is that the Memories & More Card Packs are great for making quick and easy cards that look lovely. You can spend as much, or as little time as you want embellishing the cards and adding sentiments to make them perfect for you.

There is not much stamping on the cards below but I have added some ribbon and enamel dots. The only other product needed to make this card is some adhesive and card stock. Super quick to make.

I stamped the sentiment and added Just Jade & Cinnamon Cider cardstock to this card.

I added ribbon, Misty Moonlight and Bumblebeed card stock for this one.

I cut strips of two of the cards in the pack and mounted them on Magenta cardstock which was then adhered to the Bumblebee card.  I added the ribbon and stamped the sentiment.

I cut one of the cards from the pack in three equal pieces and mounted them onto black cardstock which was then adhered everything to the Bumblebee card stock.  I used the Tailored Tag Punch and adhered the sentiment (which was a sticker in the kit.)

I added ribbon for the Just Jade card.  The flowers in the right corner is a sticker.  I stamped the birthday cake and used the Stitched Circle to die cut it.

I hope you enjoyed these cards and will take a look at some of the Memories and More kits in the catalog.  I got this kit in the Clearance at a deal.  So, you might want to look at Clearance items from time to time

Lots of Puns

I have fun making these Paper Pumpkin cards from the February Lots of Pun kit.  Most of these below are alternative ideas for the kit.  I added Early Espresso for several of the cards but all other elements came in the kit.

This egg makes a cute flower too - see below!

This is a fun fold.  The top is scored in half and when it opens, the top folded part rests on the Celebrate flag piece.  Instead of an egg, it's a flower!

Who's ever seen a banana with glasses!!

The sentiment is stamped on a small piece cut from one of the envelopes.

I'm back today to share a few more Valentines cards using last year's January Paper Pumpkin kit.  Yes, it's last year's kit but I don't always finish all the cards in the kit.  I keep the pieces and parts in a plastic zipper pocket and then filed away so I can just find what I want in each packet.  This kit is called Sending Hearts.

Isn't that little snail cute!

I used a retired die to die cut the letters on this card.
I guess no one sends love letters anymore.

Kisses and Hugs Paper Pumpkin

Some of you may still be waiting for your January 2022 Kisses & Hugs Paper Pumpkin kits to arrive. The pandemic has not been kind to us in more ways than one. Delays in products and supplies is a world-wide issue right now. The January kits were one of these delayed products. And Stampin’ Up!® thanks you for your patience if you were in that group that needed to wait a bit longer. In fact my own kits were late in coming but I think it was post office and not SU's problem.  But it finally reached me last week and I have been having fun making a few Valentines.  I don't send out many Valentines so having them in my Paper Pumpkin really works for me.

I have made several alternate cards for this month's Kisses & Hugs.  Below I used the fun fold card with just a few changes.  The two hearts on the side are creased in middle and folded back.  I also sponged a little bit of ink to make the white hearts pop.

This picture shows the Valentine card closed with the left side on the front.  The "friend" heart is adhered on one side and lined up with the bottom heart.

This is another look at the card closed but with the "sending love ..." sentiment on the top.

Another card using this fun fold of hearts above and below.

Lots of Pun

I finally received my Paper Pumpkin for December!  It's a really cute kit called Lots of Pun.  I'm having fun coming up with alternate cards from the kit.

Here are a couple I have made.

We had a good weekend during MLK ... just not what we had planned!  Ashley came down to visit on Friday.  We took Mom out for lunch on Saturday which she loved.  We were planning on having our family Christmas on Sunday but Mother Nature had other ideas.  We woke up Sunday morning to a white yard and snowed all day on Sunday.  So, no family Christmas this year!  Ashley planned to go back home early on Monday but she couldn't get her car out of our cul-de-sac because of the snow/ice until about 5 pm.  And here it is several days later & we still have a yard full of snow and the weatherman is calling for more snow and freezing rain tonight.  We'll see!

Birthday Kit

Hope you had an enjoyable weekend.  I spent a lot of time in my craft room trying to put things where they belong instead of all piled up on the table and floor!  We watched a lot of football - especially the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon.  It was a great game and went into overtime.  But we came out the winner which makes us in the play-offs.  I doubt we'll go very far but at least that gives us another week to watch our team and say good-bye to our quarterback.  The first time we saw Ben Roethlisberger was the weekend my son got married.  We found a bar in Tuscon where we could watch the game the day after the wedding.  That was 18 years ago which blows my mind!

While cleaning up today I ran across a project kit from Stampin' Up that I have probably had 5 or 6 years.  So I made a few cards using things in the Birthday Kit.  Here are a few of the cards I made today.

World of Good

January!  How time flies when you're having fun!!  Maybe I can be more diligent this month with the holidays over ... well, almost!  We are having our family Christmas next weekend.  We were all spread apart during Christmas and New Year.  My husband and I drove to Maryland to spend the holidays & her birthday for a couple of weeks.  My sister and her family spent most of the time at her son's home along with my other sister and my mom on Christmas day.  So we are all getting together next Sunday to enjoy our family time.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I was so busy during December that I didn't realize I never received the new mini catalog or the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  As a demonstrator, I should have received the catalogs in early December.  And to make things worse, I also didn't receive my December Paper Pumpkin kit!  My catalogs were supposed to arrive today and the Paper Pumpkin is scheduled to arrive on Monday.  But, who knows, they are both coming with USPS and mine tend to get held up in Butner or Greensboro a lot.  (note:  so much for thinking the catalogs were delivered today - no way!  Hopefully Monday!)

After working in my craft room this morning getting everything put away, I made a couple of masculine cards.  I going to try and use up some of my DSP ... to make room for the new stuff!  I made these cards using the World of Good DSP and stamp set.

I used some DSP on this card along with Marina Mist and Cinnamon Cider cardstock.  I'm sorry to say that this DSP, dies and stamp set are all retired.  I love the Old World Paper 3D embossing folder & was sorry it was retired.

This card is made using Early Espresso that was embossed with the Old World Paper embossing folder.  I stamped the compasses on Kraft Paper using my Stamparatus to line them up.  I used the Taylor Made Tags die to die cut the tag.  The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark and embossed with Copper powder.
