St. Paddy's Day and Stamp Club

Happy St. Paddy's Day!!

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day a few days early.  Our favorite Irish restaurant/bar had a big celebration on Saturday with bands, vendors, food and of course, your favorite beverage.  It was a free event with the option to buy a VIP ticket.  We decided to purchase the tickets since they included 2 beverages, a meal, tee shirts and access to the VIP toilets each.  Well, maybe I should say the VIP Porta-Potties!!  We didn't have to stand in line in the restaurant for the toilets but by the end of the night, I was standing in line inside!!

We ran into our leprechaun friend that we had met at the celebration a couple of years ago.  This guy comes dressed like a leprechaun every year!  I didn't get a great picture of him this year but here is his picture from 2012 when we met him - Bob, the Leprechaun

There are all kinds of people at this event!  This couple was really OLD!  They sure went all out with their costume - wig, beard, a tutu that had lights attached!  Oh my!  There were several young people there also with tutus on and tights underneath.  Believe me, their outfits were not flattering!!  Don't people look in the mirror when they leave home????

This was also Stamp Club week for me.  We made a few Easter cards.

I just love this little Easter Lamb single stamp (only $10).

Isn't this the cutest?  I CASE-d this from Judy Marshall's blog, Brown Paper Packages, where you can download the seed packet template.  This chick is from a Sale-a-bration set called Honeycomb Happiness.  He is super cute!  She has a few other templates on her blog as well.

This card was another CASE - this time from Frenchie (Stamp and Scrap with Frenchie).  I used the DSP from Sale-a-bration for the pants - using the Washi Tape Label Punch.  I used the glitter tape to decorate tem along with a few other items I had in my stash.  The sentiment is stamped on white paper and cut out with the new Balloon Punch.

And an Easter cross card that I have already shared with you HERE.

Fun Weekend

My leprechaun owl - I put him in my customer's orders this month.
Happy St Patrick's Day!  We didn't go anywhere today - decided to forego the green beer or listening to bagpipes.  I was too tired and had too much to do to get ready for club next week.  I went to Quarterly this weekend in Lenoir.  Marianne, Debbie and I went together and had a great time!  We were up until midnight working on our shoebox swaps.  I was proud of Marianne - she had been awake since 3:30 AM and by midnight, I was having to hold her up!  But when we got back to the hotel, I gave her a good laugh.  I always take my shower at night so I got ready to get in the shower when I realized I didn't have a shower cap.  What's a girl to do?  Improvise!  I took the plastic bag for laundry and put it on my head!  Marianne had to take a picture and send it to Ashley who sent her a text back to tell her that was an emergency and we'd better head for home.  Saturday morning we hit the decks running.   It was a full fast paced day with lots of laughter, sharing and learning new tricks with our stamps.  I have lots of pictures I'll be sharing with you of our swaps and cards.  Saturday was also Marianne's birthday.  I gave her the MDS photobook I made for her of our trip to Texas last March.  I've been dying to give it to her and was glad her birthday finally came so I could.  She loved it!

Birthday Card I made for Marianne - flower is made from the Heart Punch

Here is the card I made for my shoebox swap:

I embossed the Daffodil Delight with the Honeycomb Folder and mounted it on a black card.  I embossed a few hexagons from black cardstock, cut them out and glued them to the daffodil card.  Then I stamped the little bee from Collage Curios (in the spring mini).  I smashed the bottle cap with the Big Shot.  I punched the script from the Collage Curios with the 1" punch; punched the daffodil circle with the 3/4" circle and the bee with the 1/2" circle.  After putting them all together, I put Crystal Effects over the top and adhered it to the card with a tad of Crystal Effects.

Papercraft Crew Challenge

Hello Everyone,

Here is this weeks challenge sketch we are working with at the Paper Craft Crew. St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner and the Paper Craft Crew is celebrating it in this week's challenge #33 with their theme of St. Patrick's Day.  I was inspired by a couple of different things I'd seen on Pinterest to make this card.  I made the card using MDS2.  I wasn't sure whether I had a shamrock or not but after doing a search with the Global Search feature, I found the circular stamp with the shamrock in the middle.  So .... I just cropped that shamrock out, enlarged it, colored it green, lowered the opacity and put it behind the saying.

Here is the sketch we were working with:

Hope you will hop on over to the Paper Craft Crew page and check out the other members version of St. Patrick's Day.

Celebrating St. Patrick's Day in style!

We enjoyed our outing yesterday as we celebrated St. Patrick's Day at Galway Hooker.  We made some new friends and celebrated with some of our old friends.

Me and the Philly Pretzel Man!

Our old friend, Jim, our new friend, Bob and Sonny having a few cold ones!

We were seated at the bar so we met all kinds of people as they were trying to squeeze in to order beverages.  This became one of our new friends!

Our new CLEVELAND (ugh) friend, Bob - He couldn't believe he was celebrating with Steeler fans!

Happy St Paddy's Day!

Wish I was in back in Ireland today .... oh what fun!  I'll have to make do  here in the USA though.  Sonny and I plan to brave the crowds and take in some of the festivities at the Galway Hooker in Cornelius later today.  They are having all day activities - bagpipes, 10 bands, corn role, etc ..... oh yeah - a little bit of green beer too I imagine!  Hope you are doing something fun too!

Here is the Monday Mailer card I received this week from Pat.  It is great!

St Patty's Day Cards

I made St. Patty's Day cards for each gal in my Stamp Club.  I kept them pretty simple but thought they turned out cute.  I only had two shamrock stamps that I had gotten from M's so I downloaded some images from My Digital Studio today.  So easy!

Margaret (my Tx stampin' buddy) is the hostess this month for stamp club.  She and Graham flew here Tuesday night and we have been enjoying catching up with each other.  After we picked them up from the airport, we visited a new sports bar and had a few drinks before coming home.  When we got to the bar, they were just finishing up a live trivia game.  We love trivia and game shows so I'm going to remember this place and try to go back again in time to play trivia!  When we lived in Gig Harbor, we played trivia with Ashley and her friends every week at the "Stelly-deli."  It was a lot of fun.

I'm getting packed for my trip .... not long now.  Ashley is doing her own count down on the other side of the world.  It will be so great to see her as well as enjoy the sights of Ireland and England.  I'm still deciding whether I will be taking my lap top (heated debate at our house!) and keep you updated on my travels.  If not, I will be taking a journal and documenting my trip in it.

Here are a few of the cards I made for St. Patrick's Day.

Hope you had a good day of "wearing the green."
